Who Develops You: Director of Engineering 

What You’re Great At:
You thrive at building and iterating on the structure of a software application. You enjoy writing business logic, server scripts and API’s that solve gnarly business problems. 
What You’ll Do:


  • Collaborate with Product Management to turn user stories into a technical plan that can be executed by multiple people
  • Inform product direction by communicating engineering constraints and objectives to the Product Team
  • Evaluate and articulate end-to-end designs for strengths and weaknesses (e.g., complexity, quality, scalability, latency, security, performance, data integrity, etc)
  • Identify tech debt and make recommendations of reduction
  • Uphold application performance and security best practices within the team
  • Write full suite of automated tests to ensure production stability (unit, integration, e2e) 
  • Write code for medium to large features independently
  • Lead code reviews, providing constructive feedback
  • Mentor junior engineers

Skills You Have:

  • 7+ years’ backend engineering experience
  • Extensive experience with Javascript
  • Extensive experience with Node.js / Express.js (or any Node.js HTTP framework)
  • Strong experience with testing (unit, integration, and e2e)
  • Strong database experience (NoSQL, SQL)
  • Good knowledge of GraphQL
  • Experience with React
  • Extensive experience with Git & Github
  • Experience with ClickUp, Pivotal Tracker or similar project management software 
  • High EQ, able to respond effectively to people’s needs
  • Firebase knowledge is a plus
  • Experience with Kubernetes

  • Willing to mentor and train junior engineers 

Compensation: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
